Below is my ranking of the Netflix limited series, “THE IRREGULARS”. Based upon the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the series was created by Tom Birdwell:
“THE IRREGULARS” (2021) EPISODES RANKING
1. (1.05) “Chapter Five: Students of the Unhallowed Arts” – Bea, the leader of the Irregulars, discovers more about her late mother’s long-ago connection to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, while fellow Irregulars member Billy contemplates revenge after a brutal reminder of his past.
2. (1.08) “The Ecstasy of Life” – As London descends into chaos in the series finale, Bea and the Irregulars head underground, where together they face untold horror in a dangerous quest to locate the Rip, which is a tear between the natural world and the supernatural world.
3. (1.04) “Chapter Four – Both the Needle and the Knife” – Bea’s psychic half-sister, Jessie, comes face to face with Inspector Lestrade at a crime scene, Bea plays cat and mouse with Watson, and the Irregulars’ newest member, Prince Leopold “Leo”, feels torn over his life at Buckingham Palace.
4. (1.07) “Chapter Seven: The Ecstasy of Death” – After demanding the truth from Dr. Watson, Bea joins a plan to catch a mysterious psychic from Louisiana called the Linen Man. Jessie fights her fears. Fellow member of the Irregulars, Spike, scrambles to keep his friends together.
5. (1.03) “Chapter Three – Ipsissimus” – A gruesome murder sends Bea and the other Irregulars undercover at a country estate to determine whether the killer is part of a secret paranormal society.
6, (1.06) “Chapter Six Hieracium Snowdoniense” – Bea suspects that a series of stolen body parts links to an old case. Jessie approaches Sherlock about her nightmares. Anna Maxwell-Martin guest starred.
7. (1.02) “Chapter Two – The Ghosts of 221B” – With the Irregulars broke and in trouble, Bea reluctantly recruits Jessie’s help to find out who is stealing children’s teeth. Spike spies on Dr/ Watson and Sherlock.
8. (1.01) “An Unkindness in London” – In the series premiere, Jessie’s nightmares grow worse. Bea accepts Dr. Watson’s job offer for the Irregulars to investigate four kidnapped babies – and receives some unexpectedly posh help. Rory McCann guest starred.
